[Update June 23, 2012:
There are two Lake Front Homes for sale. Details Here
Deed restrictions forbid the use of homes at Lake Wynooska as resorts. Sadly there is a new owner or two who don't believe in honoring the deeds that they signed and are offering their homes as vacation rentals. Besides breaking their deeds and annoying their neighbors, these homeowners put the unfortunate few who rent from them in an awkward position.
We recommend reading the Lake Wynooska Rental Reality Page
before you decide to rent at Lake Wynooska. Avoid adding "A Visit By The Pennsylvania State Police" to your vacation plans. Don't be tricked
by flowery VRBO listings.
Lake Wynooska is located in the Pocono Mountains in Pike County, Greentown, Pennsylvania 18426 which is in the Northeast corner of Pennsylvania.
The Lake was created by a dam built in the 1800s by Shakers to power a tannery located on, what is now, Route 390. The dam was restored and Wynooska Road created by Oscar Olsommer and the Olsommer family in the late 1940s. The Olsommer family still lives around Lake Wynooska and they own considerable amounts of property in the area.
The Lake is fed by Mozzette Creek. (Mozzette Creek also feeds Kintz Creek)
